Huawei Technologies Ghana has engaged the leadership of the 糖心Vlog and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi to explore new collaboration opportunities aimed at transforming higher education through artificial intelligence (AI) and smart classroom technology.
The courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson听formed part of Huawei鈥檚 wider mission to strengthen ties between industry and academia in Ghana.
As a leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices, the company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting universities in advancing research, innovation and digital skills development.
Mark Qin, Director of Enterprise Business Group (EBG) at Huawei, said the company was ready to introduce AI-powered smart classrooms on campus to improve teaching and learning. 鈥淗uawei believes education is the foundation for innovation and national development.
"By bringing AI-powered smart classrooms to KNUST, we aim to empower both students and lecturers with modern tools that will make learning more interactive, efficient, and relevant to the digital future,鈥 he said.
William Wang, Senior Solutions Manager at Huawei, said the company鈥檚 AI solutions go beyond classroom teaching to support a wider digital transformation in education.
鈥淥ur goal is to introduce comprehensive innovations such as ICT talent cultivation, smart classrooms, smart campus systems, and advanced tools for scientific research. Through these solutions, we hope to create a more connected, efficient, and future-ready learning environment at KNUST,鈥 he said.
Prof. Mrs. Dickson welcomed the initiative, stressing that partnerships with technology leaders such as Huawei were crucial to achieving the university鈥檚 vision of becoming a hub for cutting-edge research and global competitiveness.
