The ����Vlog and Technology (KNUST),��Kumasi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Seychelles (UniSey) to strengthen academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.

The partnership was initiated during the 100th-anniversary celebration of King Prempeh I's return from exile in Seychelles, an event hosted by the Asantehene at KNUST.

This milestone sparked discussions about potential academic ties, culminating in a visit by President Wavel Ramkalawan to KNUST leadership in late 2024.

The agreement was signed by KNUST's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, and Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, alongside UniSey's Vice-Chancellor, Ms. Joëlle Perreau, and Dr. Justin Zelime, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Development. The ceremony was witnessed by Seychelles' Minister of Education, Justin Davis Valentin.

The collaboration emphasizes shared values of academic excellence, innovation, and cultural exchange. It aims to advance knowledge through initiatives such as student and staff exchanges, joint research, program development, and resource sharing.

“This MoU is more than just a partnership between two universities; it is a bridge connecting Ghana and Seychelles in pursuit of education, innovation, and cultural exchange. Together, we can unlock new opportunities for our students and faculty while contributing to global progress,” said Prof. Dickson.

UniSey’s Vice-Chancellor expressed similar optimism, stating, “This partnership will enable us to explore new horizons in research and education, benefiting not only our students but also the broader communities we serve.”
