The Vice-Chancellor of the 糖心Vlog and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi听Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh听becoming the first Vice-Chancellor to visit him since his appointment.
The visit reaffirmed the strong collaboration between KNUST and the Ministry of Health (MoH) in improving healthcare education and professional training across Ghana.
Professor Dickson congratulated the Minister on his appointment and expressed appreciation for the Ministry鈥檚 continued partnership with the University.
She recalled that KNUST and the MoH signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2014 to provide academic affiliation and support for Health Training Institutions (HTIs), a collaboration that has strengthened the quality of health education nationwide.

Over the years, this partnership has significantly improved the quality of training and built the capacity of health professionals nationwide,鈥 she said.
The MoU was renewed in 2021 for another decade, reaffirming the University鈥檚 long-term commitment.
Highlighting ongoing collaboration, the Vice-Chancellor noted that KNUST continues to build the capacity of HTI staff through digital learning and assessment workshops, supports their transition into degree-awarding institutions, and is working to extend e-library access to HTI students and staff.
She added that computer-based examinations have improved efficiency, while efforts are underway to harmonize academic results and maintain quality in decentralised graduation ceremonies.
Professor Dickson reaffirmed KNUST鈥檚 commitment to advancing health education and developing a skilled workforce for national growth.
She was accompanied by Mr. Benjamin Boampong Owusu, Registrar; Mrs. Oluwakemi Abisola Titiloye, Deputy Registrar; Mr. Oppong Gibridu, Assistant Registrar at the Affiliations Office; Professor Veronica Dzomeku, Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery; and Professor Samuel Asare-Nkansah, Co-Chairperson of the MoH鈥揔NUST Steering Committee.
