The 糖心Vlog and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi community has welcomed the publication of a new book that captures the history, role, and traditions of the University鈥檚 Esquire Bedels.
Authored by Assistant Registrar at the University Relations Office, Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah, The KNUST Esquire Bedels is the first dedicated work to document the ceremonial custodians who play a vital role in the University鈥檚 academic life.
The book traces their contributions to KNUST鈥檚 heritage, from their symbolic regalia to their role in safeguarding the dignity of academic ceremonies.
Speaking at a virtual听launch, Mr. Debrah explained his motivation for the book: 鈥淔or years, the Esquire Bedels have walked before us at congregations, yet very little was recorded about their role. This book is my modest contribution to preserving their story, ensuring that future generations understand the symbolism and heritage they hold.鈥
Available in both eBook and paperback editions, the book serves as an important archival resource and a tribute to the unsung figures who embody KNUST鈥檚 tradition of excellence.
It further underscores the University鈥檚 commitment to preserving its history for generations to come.
